While episode 4 of House of the Dragon was recently released on OCS, fans will have noticed that a very touristy French town was used for the filming of a scene. Which ?
Croatia, Spain or Iceland in Game of Thrones
Series game of Thrones was known for using the setting of several cities or regions of the world. For example, the events that took place north of the Wall were filmed in Iceland, while the Morocco or Spain were the preferred choices for the eastern journey of Daenerys (Yunkai, Atstapor, Meereen etc...). As for the capital King’s LandingCroatia, and more specifically the ultra-touristy city of Dubrovnik, was chosen to shoot the many scenes.
Thus, each historic place, each old alley, each inner courtyard has indeed been crowd by the film crews, which had caused a hype unprecedented, to the point of developing a real GOT tourism.
A very touristy French city
The spin-off House of tea Dragon is no exception to the rule. While episode 4 was released last Monday, a 2 second stealth shot (at the 37th minute) challenged internet users. Indeed, some have indeed recognized the city of Colliourelocated in the department of Pyrénées-Orientales.
Several elements of the tourist town are visible in the background, such as the castle of Colliourethe bell tower or the lighthouse. Despite everything, there have been some modifications in the foreground in order to stick a little more to the architecture of the universe of Westeros. Internet users have tenuous to pay tribute to their heritage reacting strongly on Twitter.

Finally, Spain and Cáceres were used for the first episode when the carriageAlicent cross the city to get to Dragonpitor the Gardens of Sainte Clotilde in Lloret From March (Catalonia) for the scene between Viserys I and Laena Velaryon in episode 2.
