Gotham Knights is getting closer and closer, and the game’s marketing continues to be in full swing. With many trailers and gameplay already revealed, fans have a good idea of what to expect from the title. Today, a new gameplay video was posted on IGN’s US YouTube channel, focusing on two-player co-op battles.
The preview shows various gameplay mechanics in co-op mode, including combos that can be performed while playing with a friend. Along with the video that reveals much of the gameplay, the content also includes developer commentary, which explains more about how combat and gameplay work.
Cooperative mode without lock
If you venture into Gotham Knights’ co-op mode, you won’t feel held back by your partner, as the game offers some nice freedom in that regard. It will be possible to explore the city separately if the duo wants to try this approach against the criminals scattered on the streets of Gotham.
Another interesting point is that the progression will not only be for the player who hosts the match. If you are doing a more advanced mission with a friend, when you are in your own world and you reach that point in the title, the game will ask you if you want to replay or skip the mission.
Plan the day and act at night
The Gotham Knights are nocturnal, like the bat that formed them. Thus, Gotham Knights will have a fixed number of activities available each night, the progression being done in cycles. The heroes must return to their hideout during the day to plan how to fight crime on the city streets the following night.
It was also revealed that not all villains in the game will be mandatory. Some enemies are not part of the main campaign, only side missions that players may or may not check out.
Gotham Knights will be released on October 5 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC.
