The nine-time World Champion Sebastien Loeb (Ford Puma Hybrid Rally1), 48, had previously set the best time in the first three stages of the day before making a small mistake on SS5.
Pierre Louis Loubet, 25, took the opportunity to win a first scratch in the World Cup after having been in the game since the start of the morning. He is 1.9 seconds ahead of his teammate Sebastien Loeb.
The Finn Esapekka Lappi (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1), third, clocked in at 4.2 seconds, and Thierry Neuville (Hyundai i20 N Rally1), fourth, is only 4.9 seconds behind the young Frenchman.
